The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, A Game Music Companion (2020)
The brief for this project was to create a simple, eye-catching design evoking the imagery of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time without the use of copyrighted assets. The titular ocarina was chosen as the basis for our concept, reduced to an abstract arrangement of ovals on a gradient of deep blues. The title text is presented in same font as the game’s logo, connecting the cover’s design language to that of its subject matter. All together, these approaches produced striking cover artwork that was immediately recognisable to the target demographic and strongly anchored in the book’s subject matter.
